The end of the year celebrations are marked by moments of joy, fraternization and, for many, a true gastronomic feast. Dried fruits such as raisins, prunes and walnuts have been protagonists for many years… But have you thought about innovating and using cranberries in your recipes?
The cranberry is a small fruit native to North America, widely used in Thanksgiving recipes in November, since its harvest occurs at that time, in spring. In the USA, the typical dish for this celebration is turkey with cranberry sauce.
In countries such as Chile, Brazil and others in South America, turkey is characteristic of Christmas and New Year.
If you want to innovate your recipes this year, here is a very easy and delicious option to surprise your guests.
Rice with Cranberry
Ingredients:
1 cup of rice of your choice
1 cup dehydrated cranberry
2 cups of water
Butter or olive oil to taste
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Very simple! Just as you cook rice every day. Place the butter or oil in a saucepan, add the rice and cranberry, and cover with water. Add salt to taste. Cook over medium/low heat until the water dries (approx. 20 minutes).
